Faker Interview - Notaporcupine

When did you first discover Celebrity Nude Fakes?

I discovered fakes shortly after discovering porn. I believe it must’ve been around 2003 or 2004, and it wasn’t unusual for them to pop up while searching for other content. I found them through rule 34 first. I believe Sinful Comics was the first lewd celebrity content I consumed. They used to do pinups and comics of actresses and their various characters, and I remember kind of tumbling down the rabbit hole after that, as it were.

When and why did you decide to begin creating celebrity nude fakes?

I started making fakes in May of 2021. The pandemic gave me a lot of unoccupied time, and I found myself in a celebrity focused community. I’d occasionally strike up conversations with other fakers there. One such faker was Gr3yPotatoe, who sometimes takes requests, usually on a first come first serve basis. After some back and forth, I mentioned to him that I may be okay at it, as I already had Photoshop experience, and he encouraged me to give it a try. It was not an overnight decision, I grappled then, and still do, with the unethical nature of the hobby—something that most who know me are already of—but ultimately decided that I would try it so long as I observed strict personal boundaries regarding their content. I think it was part vanity, or even ego that made me start. I’m a creative at heart, and most of my work flies under the radar. The short bursts of validation I first got when I began faking really got me hooked, and now I mainly do it for fun.

What was the first fake you created?

The first fake I created was of Jenna Coleman. She was on my mind at the time, and I happened to come across a body shot that I thought would suit her well. No more complicated than that, really.

How long have you been creating celebrity fakes?

Just over a year. I think I have about 220 under my belt at this point.

Does anyone in your life know you look at or make celebrity fakes?

No one in my personal life knows that I make fakes. It honestly causes me anxiety just thinking about the prospect of that changing. It is a shame, in a certain regard, because sometimes I’m proud of my fakes on a technical level and know that I can’t share them with anyone I care about in my personal life. However, there are some people that do know I am at least vaguely interested in fakes/celebrities. I have an ex or two who I’ve shared my fetishes/kinks with, and celebrities was one of them. We had conversations about our favorites celebrities and occasionally looked at content together. I think that’s the limit of my interest in this hobby extending into my personal life though.

Do you enjoy making celebrity nude fakes?

I do enjoy faking. It may sound odd, but it achieves the same effect for me as putting together a puzzle. It can be calming, and kind of a form of meditation. I also enjoy pushing my limits in terms of skill and seeking to improve those skills when I can. And this is a rather fun way of doing it, even if I do struggle with the morality of it on almost a daily basis.

Do you find looking at or making celebrity nude fakes arousing?

I confess to getting distracted on occasion when I’m working on a piece, but it isn’t the pieces themselves, or working on them that I find so stirring so much as it’s my own train of thought derailing into fantastic scenarios. From time to time, I find my own fakes alluring, but I take no sexual pleasure in my gallery, really. Like I mentioned before, it’s more of a meditative practice than a sexual one. There are exceptions of course as there are a select few where I think I managed to capture Viagra in a bottle. For myself anyway. Which probably speaks more to my porn-scrambled brain than the quality of my work.

Do you ever burn out on making celebrity nude fakes?

Oh yes. Constantly. I imagine that a burn-out will lead to my eventual retirement or maturation from the hobby. It’s simply not possible to fake and not have your mind dulled by the constant bombardment of nudity. The countless hours spent looking for exact body shots which match a particular body type with lighting that also matches the source materials you’ve already collected is incredibly tedious. I find it most rewarding when I’m able to multitask. Audiobook/music, faking, boom. If I’m irritated by my environment or my current life situation which is sometimes the case, I can just straight-up not be in the mood to fake. I’ve slowed my output down considerably from when I started. Partly to avoid burnout, partly because I’m trying to occupy my time with healthier activities, and partly because I’m finding it increasingly difficult to meet my own standards.

What was the first nude fake you’ve ever seen?

Okay, so I don’t know the specific fake here, but I can guarantee it was either of Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman. There was a comic and pinup featuring ScarJo by Sinful Comics I recall being one of my first porn curiosities, I’ll include those here in my response.
